Shaken, Not Stirred

Well, another exciting week has come and gone here in Brooklyn. Jef Aerosol's flight has touched down safely in France and we are left with nothing but our memories...oh yeah, and a whole lot of video & photo documentation. Carlito Brigante has been busy at work in the editing room this week, and he has just re-emerged with these new gems:

French Connection

There is no question that French artists have played a pioneering role in the history of stenciling. Legends such as Blek le Rat, Miss.Tic and Jef Aerosol paved the way for today's crop of talented French stencilists, of which C215, the Dude Company and Tian are but a few of the many worth mentioning.

We're pleased to share with you the work of French photographer/videographer and Brooklyn resident Carlito Brigante, who has actively documented his fellow countrymen in action in New York:

Aerosol Action

IMG_0698

This Friday, January 29th marks the long over due debut solo show in New York of the iconic French street artist Jef Aerosol. A true pioneer of the street art movement, Aerosol has been hitting the streets with his stencils since 1982..and clearly he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon!

Despite his being busy preparing for the show, Jef still found some time to swing by the Robots Will Kill walls in Bushwick today for a little painting on the street. It was there that I was able to catch up with him and two of my favorite photographers/bloggers, Vinny Cornelli and Carlito Brigante. There is not much to complain about when you are able to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon surrounded by talented, funny, and humble gentlemen, such as these three!
